9726 - Chantilly (right) is a Signature Exclusive Newport Mansions Doris Duke upholstery silk damask design. Chantilly was inspired by a rare and delicate circa 1750 Chinese porcelain bowl. This impressive famille rose bowl is one of the many porcelain ceramic pieces acquired in Doris Duke's collection dating from 1100 to the mid-nineteenth century. Chantilly captures the graceful portrayal of this peony floral while also incorporating an open, airy feeling by having lots of surrounding open ground. This pattern is woven in silk and fine mercerized cotton yarns to achieve the quality fit only for a discerning taste and appreciation.
