9136-Ming (right) is a luxurious silk solid shantung with a crisp, refined hand and delicate luster. This is an exceptional quality silk, more refined and luxurious than classic silk duppioni. Shantung was first woven in the province of Shantung, China from hand-reeled tussah silk. Today’s version is made with fine warp yarns of cultivated silk and refined filling yarns of duppioni silk. Ming has a firm, semi-crisp hand and drape that falls into moderately crisp flares. Ming, shown here in Plumwine, is available in a classic palette as well as fresh, fashion forward colors.
